It's simply about reducing R affinity with levels, and increasing it with items. Botlaners are behind in levels and equally ahead in items, so shifting R away from levels nerfs mid a lot more than bot. It was an obvious change that was coming, his Lv11-Lv16 R powerspikes were just ridiculous for sololane. Lucian in ADC role is not bad he is very impressive early levels, but suffers mid late game due to pure level advantage from top and mid. Lucian was blessed in the fact that he is inner changable in roles. He can play all 3 lanes well. If you OTP or main Lucian, I suggest playing him in a more impressive lane. It will feel 5x better. Imo Lucian gets countered more by supports than ADCs. Whenever I think “this is gonna be a hard lane,” it’s almost always because of the support.
