Best fortitude base for merc

I’ve only used it on a merc so far but no regrets. Defense as a whole is a pretty ineffective stat in D2. Make it in a good non-eth Archon Plate/Great Hauberk or Wire Fleece then you can use it on other characters later. I'd say always make it in a good base, a high Def but not sup base is usually pretty cheap.I might want to keep this for myself to use on my merc with Fortitude… but I believe this is close to the best possible base armor for a merc in the game.
